Presidential Candidates

Who are you voting for? The question is becoming harder and harder each passing day as more candidates seem to show up. Do you want an actor? A mayor? A wanna-be news reporter? If you want someone, they're probably running for president.
Personally I think either Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton is who it's going to be against in the democratic field. But I have no clue as to who it will be on the Republican side.
Again for the Democrats though, I believe Hillary Clinton has a better chance because there are more woman voters than men.
But that's just my 2 cents. Tell me what you think.

AOL

If you have not read the Wikipedia entry on AOL, you have to. It is hilarious, but too true that this kind of stuff happens to try and keep customers. Also if you can, go to the link near the bottom that links to the AOL handbook. The actions are crazy!

McDonald's vs. Landfill

I was thinking the other day, there isn't much difference between McDonald's and a Landfill. Let me explain.

McDonald's
  • Public
  • You pay to eat
  • Inspected by a Health Inspector

Both
  • Tastes the same
  • Unsanitary
  • Smells like crud
  • Looks the same
  • etc.
Landfill
  • Private
  • You pay to throw away stuff
  • Not inspected by a Health Inspector
Wow. It gives a new meaning to junk food.

The Environment

Pollution, Resources, Economy; the list goes on. We have so many problems with the environment it's not even funny. We have been pumping so much pollution into the air, that nothing can handle it. The temperatures are rising unnaturally.
Many people out there are saying crud like, "Oh, there have been many normal climate shifts in the past, and so we aren't doing anything bad."
But here's the difference. The other climate shifts happened after something drastic happened, such as a meteor hit earth, or a volcano erupted.
And that hasn't happened recently.
We are killing our Earth. Especially the species that live here now, and our children. They are going to have to deal with the mess we created and it's not going to be pretty at all.
Also our resources are taking a direct hit. Our oil production has hit the max at a turning point when the world keeps demanding more energy. Also we use oil for more than just gasoline. Most plastics are oil based, and once we run out of oil, there won't be any plastic.
Then the major world leaders go, "Oh, no, we can't stop using fossil fuels. That's bad for economy!"
First of all, SCREW THE ECONOMY! Would you rather ride a bike to work or die?
Second of all, we would actually help the economy by not using fossil fuels. Creating and running renewable energy sources takes money and jobs. A wind turbine just doesn't randomly pop up in the middle of a desert by itself does it?
So please think about it. Try to save resources.
1. Turn off devices when you're not using them. Don't just put them standby mode.
2. Get rid of the Hummer etc. It's not cool to kill the environment is it? And if you really want a Hummer, you can get them converted to hybrids and also get them to run on grease etc.
3. Don't waste. Most industrialized countries are extremely careless. They don't care about their items because they can just "buy a new one." That'll be funny when we run out of resources to make a new one.

Please just be responsible and help keep our world alive.

Whooo... Glad to get that off my mind. And remember, follow my directions, or kill your future generation.

Asus Eee Pc

The Asus Eee. Cool name in my opinion. I've been reading about the little device, and I can't find a bad review anywhere!. The little thing runs off Linux or Windows (if you buy it) and seems to be a good deal nonetheless. And everyone is praising it. It looks pretty cool to me and the specs aren't that bad for the price you pay. I have got to get my hands on one of those if I can. The only problem is that Asus doesn't seem to be making many.
It seems like Asus might finally become a larger brand in America if the Eee does its job.
Well tell me if you have or tried one and how you like it, Please!

PC or Mac?

No, I'm not buying anything right now, I just want to know what people like.
I know I myself don't have a Mac but I still like them. I know more people in the graphics and web design field use them. (Which I might get into.) But I'm still stuck with my good old PC. Which is kind of odd because I actually like it too. Don't get me wrong, old versions of Windows stank, but I really like XP. I think it was one of Microsoft's only successes.
Tell me what you think. :)

XBox woes

Microsoft has just published this.
The XBox 360 has cost them over $1 million in repair costs for busted consoles.
That's a pretty good chunk of change I'd say. At least on a lighter note Microsoft has lowered the prices on the 360 a bit.
Oh well, tell me if you got a clue.
EDIT: Whoops. Sorry that bill was 1 billion, not 1 million.

Wii Media

I think Nintendo made one mistake with the Wii. Not having good media options. It also doesn't help that the only plug-in that the browser has is Macromedia 7.
Sheesh, doesn't Adobe already have version 9 out?
This kinda becomes a problem when want photos, music, and videos on the Wii. (without an SD card)
So I'm thinking to myself, how can I do this?
Well videos can be done through Youtube, so that's not a real problem.
And Pictures can be done trough Picasa web albums, so that's done.
Now what to do for music? Yes I know that there is the Media Center X for Wii, but I don't want to have to keep my PC on. So I'm going to try my only other solution, a flash mp3 player, hmmph.
I hope it works.
Tell me if you have any other ideas.

Wii have fun

Today on my Wii I decided to download a game. So there I was looking through the available games. I came upon two N64 games Mario Kart 64 and Star Fox 64. Since I already have too many Mario Kart games, I downloaded Star Fox 64.
I will sum up this game in one word.
SWEET!
The game's graphics are good, playability is super, and It is extremely fun.
I would recommend it.
The only other N64 Game I want off the top of my head is Blast Corps. (Are you listening Nintendo?)

XBox 360 Problem update

Hello there! Well it seems as if Microsoft has released some data according to Gizmodo. This was one of today's rss feeds from Gizmodo.

"We always knew the Xbox 360 failure rate was high, but the only time Microsoft's put any sort of solid numbers on the thing it was always somewhere around 5%. Retailers, on the other hand, have just reported a failure rate of somewhere over 30%. That's pretty ridonkulous. It's a good thing Microsoft support is usually pretty good about taking them back, so you don't have to go all Picard and shout about how many lights there are over the phone.

From what we've seen in unconfirmed reports on the Net, the problem comes from insufficient cooling for the GPU. This in turn causes the three red lights, which means you're going to have to send back your 360 to Microsoft and possibly get a dirty refurbished unit in return. If you're really, really lucky (and French), you'll get a unit with added cooling as well.

Massive Failure Rate For Xbox 360 Exposed [Smarthouse]"

Whoa! 30% that can't be good.

Tell me what you think.

PeeCee Problems

So yesterday somebody went on our computer in the basement. They clicked on their name and logged in. A error message popped up saying that their profile was missing and that Windows was going to make a temporary one. She clicked OK and then while it was loading, it froze. After 5 minuets she powered down the PC and tried again to no avail. She tried again and this time it came up with a generic desktop (like the one you would find in Safe Mode.) She tried to log on to the Internet but it then didn't show her name only "Guest." Since she really had work to do she continued working with all of these kinds of random problems. Today I checked around and made a backup. I looked and her settings were still messed up. I did the only real thing I could do (Besides reintsalling Windows) a System Restore to 2 days before. Luckily when it restarted everything was fixed but I still don't get something. What the heck happened?
If you know or have a suggestion please comment!

Mouse Issues

I just bought a new Microsoft Notebook mouse. My hopes was to use it when I traveled with my laptop. It has a cool side scrolling feature and felt solid in my hand. So I went to go install it on my laptop. I put the disc in and it started up. The first thing that popped up was a message that said that in order to install this mouse I would have to uninstall The older drivers. Along time ago I used a basic 2 button scroll mouse from Microsoft so I said OK and clicked Continue. The next window that popped up was the Logitech Setpoint uninstaller! I have a Logitech keyboard and mouse that I currently use and like a lot. I don't want to uninstall them! I clicked Cancel. Then the window that came up before, popped up again!
I really wanted to use the new mouse! You'd think that it would be possible to have two mice drivers installed at once.
Bloody Mouse
Oh well, tell me if you have an idea.

No Life

I'm not sure what this person's name but tell me what you think of this.
Some lawyer is suing a small dry cleaning store.
The reason? They lost his pants.
The amount he is suing for? $54 Million!
He says he is suing them because the didn't live up to the two signs they had on their wall that said "Next Day Service" and "Satisfaction Guaranteed." Give me a break. 54 Million?
Somebody doesn't have a life.
I'm not sure if this is true but somebody said that he was also unemployed. I wonder why?
I think that the dry cleaner should pay him 50 bucks or what ever the pants caost and be done with it. Or they could countersue! He He.
Tell me what you think.

XBox 360

You think stuff is suposed to get better the second time around. All I see with the XBox360 is an overpriced hunk of crud that is marginally better than the origional. The 360 is plagued by problems. Shall I list?
Overheating
Hardware Failure
Hard Drive Crashes
Freezing

Don't get me wrong, I would love to get one but I mean come on, Microsoft! After this many years you think that a huge company could make reliable hardware!

Edit: I found out that Microsoft (in some countries) is reworking the cooling system in peoples' 360s for free.

'nother blog

Hi! This is yet another blog on the ever growing internet about nothing really important. Just Kidding. Here I will add my 2 cents (more like 25 cents) in on random stuff that is happening or bothering me. Hope you start joining me !

P.S. This will be a nerdy blog.
